The ISLAND Waterpark at Showboat Atlantic City is billed as the world's largest waterpark near a beachfront. The 120,000-square-foot waterpark is a $100 million project and will have a 6,500-square-foot lazy river, 1,000-square-foot surf simulator, pools, shopping, party rooms, lounge areas, and more than a dozen waterslides. NJ Playgrounds, Amusement Parks Can Reopen July 2 Outdoor amusement parks, waterparks and playgrounds can reopen with limitations Thursday July 2, Gov. Phil Murphy announced Tuesday, adding New Jersey has reached the latter portion of Stage 2 of reopening. The amusement and water parks -- including rides on Jersey Shore boardwalks -- will be able to reopen at 50 percent capacity, the governor said.
