Shoplifter Assaults Mahwah Liquor Store Worker, Flees In Sedan With Stolen Plates
What began as a shoplifting turned into a robbery at a Mahwah liquor store, authorities said. An employee tried to stop the thief and was assaulted just before 5 p.m. Friday in the parking lot at the MacArthur Ridge Plaza on Ridge Road -- making it a strong-arm robbery, they said. He then drove off in a silver Honda sedan bearing a PA license plate that police said didn't belong to the vehicle. The employee wasn't injured. Superintendent: Suspicious Call Locks Down Mahwah Schools
Mahwah schools went into "precautionary modified lockdown" on Monday after a suspicious call came in to the high school, officials said. The lockdowns began at 12:45 p.m. while police investigate the call to the high school's main office, Schools Supt. C. Lauren Schoen said in an email to parents. HEROES: A 62-year-old warehouse manager at Mahwah's Center for Food Action site was in full cardiac arrest when a group of township police officers responded last July. Using CPR and an automated external defibrillator, they kept Babar Khawaja of Ramsey alive. Two Kids, Other Driver Hospitalized After Mahwah Crash
Two schoolchildren and an adult were hospitalized after a crash in Mahwah Friday morning, authorities said. A Toyota Rav IV was making a left onto Ridge Road from Lydia Lane in Ramapo Ridge when it struck by a Lincoln sedan heading south around 8 a.m., Police Chief James A. Batelli said. MAHWAH, N.J. – A man who authorities said sexually assaulted a woman after breaking into her Morris County home was charged with a trio of burglaries in Mahwah, authorities said. Brian Sessions, 47, of Jersey City was captured on surveillance cameras wearing a backpack he stole in one of three burglaries committed last June – two off Hilltop Road and the other off Ridge Road, Police Chief James N.
