Victim Of Hawthorne House Fire Airlifted To Burn Center, Investigators Summoned Authorities were investigating the circumstances surrounding a house fire in Hawthorne on Wednesday that sent a burn victim to St. Barnabas in a medical chopper. No fewer than five people also were treated for smoke inhalation, including police officers who had to break a window to get into the apparently barricaded home on Sunrise Drive off Goffle Hill Road shortly after 1:30 p.m. May 24, a source with direct knowledge of the incident said. Support Surges For Bound Brook Family Displaced By Fire A Bound Brook family lost everything when their home went up in flames, and the community is now rallying to help. Firefighters responded to the Trupkiewicz family's Mountain Avenue home on March 19, where the fire reached three alarms, according to the local fire station and a GoFundMe campaign launched by relatives. Annie Kielblock organized the campaign on behalf of her sister, Alyssa, and brother-in-law, Michael Trupkiewicz. Boy, 16, ID'd As Victim Killed In Midland Park Fire Authorities have identified the teen killed in this week's Midland Park house fire as a 16-year-old male resident. Alexander Lopez-Pena's body was found by responders on the first floor of the 222 Franklin Ave. home on Thursday, Feb. 2, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella said. He was brought to an ambulance before being pronounced dead at the scene, responders said.
