James Allandale, 61, immediately opened fire on officers who found him at the Knights Inn Pinebook on Route 46 in Montville this past New Year's Eve. Two Hospitalized In Three-Vehicle Pileup In Fair Lawn
At least two people were hospitalized following a three-car pileup late Saturday in Fair Lawn. Broadway was temporarily closed in both directions just after 11 p.m. Nov. 4 so that members of the Fair Lawn Volunteer Ambulance Corps could tend to the wounded and the wreckage could be cleared from the intersection at Plaza Road. The extent of injuries couldn't immediately be determined. These 27 NJ Boston Market Stores Have Reopened After Failing To Pay 314 Workers
The 27 Boston Market stores in New Jersey that were issued stop work orders last month for failing to pay hundreds of employees have reopened. It gets better, the workers have been compensated. The chicken chain became the center of an investigation by the state's labor department when East Hanover employee Cathy Grimes reported that she and the dozen workers she managed hadn't been paid for two months, the DOL said. A 31-year-old man with an outstanding warrant was discovered with heroin hidden in a cigarette box while walking around Fair Lawn Monday evening, borough police said. After noticing a "suspicious" male on Broadway at West Amsterdam Avenue around 9 p.m., Fair Lawn Police Officer John Rovetto arrested John Schmitt of Elmwood Park, Sgt. Brian Metzler said.
