Paramus has gone seven months without a Barnes & Noble. And according to its customers, that's seven months too long. The treasured book store which closed last February after 28 years at 765 Route 17 S., has announced an opening date for its new location. Drumroll please: Black Friday. Stricken Tow Truck Driver Crashes Into Tree Off Route 17
A tow truck crashed into a tree just off Route 17 in Paramus when its driver suffered what responders said was a medical episode Tuesday afternoon. A paramedic team from the Valley Hospital tended to the driver from Criger's Auto Body in Fairfield near the former Barnes & Noble at the intersection of Glen Avenue and the southbound highway before taking him back with them. Paramus police and EMS assisted.A heavy-duty tow truck removed the damaged vehicle from the scene. Boyd A. Loving took the photo and contributed to this story.

Shuttered Paramus Barnes & Noble To Reopen In Former Toys R Us Store
The shuttered Paramus Barnes & Noble is coming back to life. The treasured book store that long stood at 765 Route 17 south on the Ridgewood border will be replacing Big Lots! on Route 17 northbound, the store announced on Facebook. Big Lots ! is set to close in May, store associates tell Daily Voice. The space was formerly home to Toys 'R' Us. "While we are sad to leave this location, we are excited for our next chapter," the store said. Barnes & Noble of Paramus broke hearts last January when it announced it would be closing.

A man caught secretly recording women in bathroom stalls at a Barnes & Noble on Route 3 in Clifton did the same with two children at a Paterson home, authorities said. Juan Mejia, 46, of Paterson was arrested in February 2020 after a woman alerted security officers at Clifton Commons who found him in the bathroom. CLIFTON, N.J. -- The driver and a 20-year-old employee were treated for minor injuries after an SUV slammed through the front of the Barnes & Noble bookstore at Clifton Commons early Thursday afternoon.
