Monroe Police Arrest Second Suspect In Gas Station Robbery
MONROE, Conn. -- Monroe police have charged a second man in the September robbery of a Route 25 service station, according to a report in monroecourier.com.
Police charged Wesley Steinfeld, 29, of Newtown with first-degree robbery, third-degree larceny and conspiracy to commit first-degree robbery and third-degree larceny in the robbery, which took place Sept. 6, monroecourier.com reported.
Earlier, police arrested Christopher Basso, also of Newtown, in the robbery, according to monroecourier.com.

Vito Lopez, Ex-Lawmaker Felled By Harassment Charges, Dies
ALBANY, N.Y. -- Former Assemblyman Vito Lopez of Brooklyn, once an influential politician who was later brought down by sexual harassment accusations, died Monday night at age 74, according to a report in nystateofpolitics.com.
Lopez, who had suffered from cancer, was first elected to the Assembly in 1985 and became chairman of the Housing Committee, nystateofpolitics reported.
He resigned in 2013 after a state ethics panel ruled that he had harassed members of his staff and violated a state law governing state officers, according to nystateofpolitics.com.
