A New Jersey boyfriend brought Reggie Rosaldo from Redondo Beach, California, the defendant said Saturday.

Around 10 p.m. Tuesday, a detective responding to the since-removed ad on eros.com came to the hotel room where Rosaldo, 28, was staying.

“I asked if he wants to sit down …and he grabbed his pocket [to] get the cash,” Rosaldo told CLIFFVIEW PILOT. “He tried to [hand] it to me. I said no to the money. We chatted for a little bit about his work living.

“He said he was nervous and asked my permission if he can wash his hands. He went straight [to] the door. All I knew next I was arrested for prostitution.”

Two more detectives came in and found both the stun gun, which Rosaldo said is for protection, and the syringes.

“Being different is [a] hard and tough life [that] I deal [with] every day. I [was] beaten up and almost got killed,” Rosaldo told CLIFFVIEW PILOT. “That’s why I carried it.”

The syringes, she said, are for the hormone estradiol, prescribed by her doctor. Six were found, unopened, Rosaldo said. “[They] didn’t find any illegal drugs.”

Paramus Police Chief Christopher Brock said Detective Dave Lagrone approached “was invited into a hotel room where he was propositioned with sex for money.”

Rosaldo was released without bail pending a Municipal Court hearing. What had been an extremely difficult life has not gotten worse, she said.

“I’ve been harrased and almost got beaten up about this,” Rosaldo said.
