He described the robber as:

light-skinned black, slim
5’9” to 6’0”
in his 20s or 30s
wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt.

The attendant said the weapon had a silver barrel and a yellow/tan grip.

The amount taken hadn’t been determined, Paramus police said early this afternoon.

The attendant told police “he was inside with the door locked when an individual knocked on the door and asked to purchase cigarettes,” Lt. John Scully said.

“The attendant said he let the individual into the store for the purchase,” Scully added. “When the attendant retrieved the cigarettes from behind the counter, he reported the [robber] produced a handgun and demanded money.

“The attendant reported he turned over the money from the register, and the [thief] then fled the store and ran west through the parking lots towards Paramus Road.”

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Paramus Police Detective Frank Scott: (201) 262-3400, ext. 369.
