Detective Sgt. Frank Scott cracked the case after submitting DNA found in the 2010 Honda Accord, which was parked on Carlough Drive when it was broken into and its $1,5000 air bags removed on Oct. 2, to the New Jersey State Police lab, Police Chief Kenneth Ehrenberg said this morning.

Court was in session at the time, he said.

The DNA trace came back to ex-con Jesus Borrero, who’s in custody in New York State on unrelated charges, the chief said.

Borrero is charged with automobile burglary and theft.
