PARAMUS, N.J. -- John Ramon Ortiz, of Paramus, died on Saturday, Jan. 7. He was 95.
He was born Dec. 19, 1921, to Bernabe Ortiz and Maria Fernandez, in Northfield, Vermont, and as a child his family returned to Spain.
In the early 1950s, he returned to the states, settling in New York City. For 30 years, he worked for Civetta Construction before retiring.
He is survived by his wife, Elvira; children, Maria and husband Kevin Farrell, Ramond and wife Amelia, and RIchard and wife Shari; grandchildren, Timothy and wife Kristin, Eileen and husband Jason, Christopher and Alexander; great-grandchildren, Declan, Jack, Grahm & Thomas; siblings, the late Maria, Bernabe, and Aresenio.
