Update: Admitted Homemade Bomb Maker From South Jersey Gets 2 Years, No Parole A South Jersey man whom federal authorities said they caught with a do-it-yourself bomb and the materials to make it was sentenced to two years in prison without parole. Thomas Petronglo, 64, had a 5¾-inch diameter metal can filled with potassium perchlorate and aluminum with a fuse sticking out when authorities raided his Vineland home in March 2021, according to a complaint on file in U.S. District Court in Camden. 19-Year-Old Driver Killed In Head-On South Jersey Crash: Report A 19-year-old woman from Cumberland County was killed in a head-on crash with a pickup truck, authorities said. Dijana D. Battle, of Millville, was driving a 2010 Chevrolet Aveo south on Hance Bridge Road, near Canterbury Lane, when she crossed the center line and struck a Ford F-150 pickup truck at 11:05 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 8, according to Vineland police. Charges Upgraded For DWI Driver Who Killed Vineland High School Senior, Police Say Charges have been upgraded for a 54-year-old Vineland man who was driving drunk when he struck and killed a high school student riding his bicycle in April, authorities said Monday. Phillip J. Cox was charged Monday with death by auto and violation of law intended to protect health and safety in the April 29 crash involving 18-year-old Daniel A. Diaz, Vineland police announced.  He was initially issued summonses for driving while intoxicated and reckless driving.
