A Newark mom has been arrested on accusations she stabbed her her 5-year-old son, Daily Voice has learned. Officers responded to Murray Street near Brunswick Street on reports of a 5-year-old stabbed around 5:10 p.m. Monday, Nov. 6, Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé said. A 3-year-old was found unharmed in Jersey City after an AMBER alert was issued out of Newark on Tuesday, Oct. 31. At 8:15 a.m., police responded to the 100 block of Wilson Avenue after a vehicle was carjacked with the child left inside, Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé said. At 10:30 a.m., police found the vehicle in Jersey City with the child inside and unharmed, Fragé said. The incident remains under investigation.

Two Newark Officers Stabbed During Domestic Violence Call
A pair of Newark police officers were hospitalized Thursday, Jan. 5 after being stabbed by a man while responding to a domestic violence incident, authorities said. The unidentified officers were called to a home on the 600 block of Dr. Martin Luther King Drive around 4:45 p.m., when a suspect stabbed the officers, Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé said. The officers were rushed to University Hospital for treatment and were reportedly in stable condition. The suspect was arrested at the scene without further incident. Newark police seek the public’s help in locating a 31-year-old man who is wanted for questioning in connection with a shooting, authorities said. A report of shots fired placed a Newark school on lockdown Friday, Nov. 4, authorities said. The call came in just before 3 p.m., near the Louise A.
