Wanaque voters won't have a chance to vote on a county government referendum during the Nov. 3 election, but Mayor Dan Mahler said the fight isn't finished.

Although the Borough Council voted in favor of including the non-binding referendum question on the Nov. 3 ballot, the judge said the challenge could not go forward due to the pending legal challenge, NorthJersey.com said.

Mayor Dan Mahler said the conversation regarding the referendum question is far from over, adding the Passaic County Democratic Committee challenged a similar case and won in court, added NorthJersey.com.

Borough Attorney Anthony Fiorello said the court ruled the referendum was not enforceable and could not be placed on the ballot, said NorthJersey.com.
