A Passaic County Health Department employee was hospitalized after the SUV that she was driving was T-boned in Ridgewood. The worker had just visited a patient at the Valley Hospital in Ridgewood when the crash occurred Sunday night, her brother said. The Chevy Blazer was headed eastbound on Linwood Avenue when it was rammed by a Jeep Wrangler headed south on Walthery Avenue shortly before 8:30 p.m. Oct. 8. A driver was hospitalized after his sedan was broadsided by a Jeep in Ridgewood early Wednesday afternoon. The Cherokee driver was OK after his vehicle t-boned the Subaru Legacy at the intersection of Walthery and Linwood avenues around 1:30 p.m. Sept. 6. A backhoe towed on a trailer hit an overpass and fell onto southbound Route 17 in Ridgewood early Wednesday afternoon. A fully loaded garbage truck tipped over on a Route 17 exit ramp late Wednesday morning. Tributes continued to mount as news spread of the death of a beloved 75-year-old Fair Lawn man over the weekend. Andrew Feci, 75, was pronounced dead at the Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, where his wife works, after he went into cardiac arrest behind the wheel of his SUV on Saturday. A Ridgewood man with a reckless DWI offense already on his record registered five times the legal blood-alcohol limit after he caused a three-car crash that sent him and others to the hospital, village police said. NJ State Police Pull Over Speeding Car, Find Passenger In Labor
Imagine the shock of State Police who chased a speeding car up Route 17, then drew their guns when the driver finally pulled over on a Ridgewood street -- and found a passenger in labor. The brief pursuit began around 10:30 p.m. Saturday on the northbound highway. The driver took the Linwood Avenue exit, headed to The Valley Hospital about a half-mile away. Troopers pulled their guns after the driver eventually stopped because they didn't know whether the pair was armed. Once they discovered the circumstances, the troopers provided an escort up Linwood Avenue to the hospital.

A Ridgewood resident scared off a burglar who'd just forced open a rear door on Thursday, authorities said. Police established a perimeter and summoned a Bergen County Sheriff’s K9 Unit in a fruitless search for the fleeing intruder, Police Chief Jacqueline Luthcke said.
