Michael Diceglie, 69, Norwood Resident

NORWOOD, N.J. – Michael Diceglie of Norwood died Tuesday, Feb. 23, after a battle with cancer. He was 69.

Born and raised in Totowa, he was a resident of Norwood for the last 28 years.

He worked for Adalet Corp. as director of sales and marketing and at Chase Manhattan Bank's real estate division. He coached the Norwood girls softball team and was director of Norwood baseball and softball leagues. He was a member of the Electronic Young Tigers Association. He was also a trustee for the Old Tappan High School Athletic Club and responsible for scholarship fundraising.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Jennifer (Benvenuto); his son, Christopher, and his wife, Jamie Marie; his daughter Jamie Beth Diceglie; his brother, Frank DeCeglie; his sister, Joanne Dagnino, and her husband, Dennis; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his father and mother, Michael and Jennie; and his siblings, Grace Jansen and George DeCeglie.

Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate his life Sunday, Feb. 28, from 3-7 p.m. at Pizzi Funeral Home, 120 Paris Ave., Northvale. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, Feb. 29, at noon at St. Anthony’s Roman Catholic Church, 199 Walnut St., Northvale.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made in his name to the John Theurer Cancer Center, Att: Dr. Robert Alter, 92 Second St., Hackensack NJ 07601; or the Norwood Little League through Pizzi Funeral Home.
