NORTHVALE, N.J. —Irene Papa (nee Bonzagni), 82, of Northvale, passed away Wednesday, July 13, 2016.
She was the wife of the late George; mother of Barbara Masterson and husband Walt of Northvale, Lorraine Jones and husband Bob of River Vale and the late George; mother-in-law of Nancy Papa of Dumont; grandmother of Charlie and wife Laura, Jenny, Robert, Danny and wife Isabella, Jimmy, Kevin, John and Nick; and great-grandmother to Nate and Zach.
Papa was a cashier at Grand Union in Closter for 20 years; she was loved by all her customers.
She enjoyed living in Palm Coast and Flagler Beach, Fla. for many years, where she spent time helping others and enjoying the sunshine.
Papa spent the last 10 years living at Mill Gardens Assisted Living in Midland Park.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Anthony’s RC Church, 199 Walnut St., Northvale, with burial to follow at St. Raymond’s Cemetery in the Bronx, N.Y.
