Grandson Of Saddle River Author Mary Higgins Clark Dies In PA Crash Jerome "Jerry" Derenzo of Saddle River, New Jersey died in a car crash in Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania early on Friday, Nov. 17, authorities say. He was 31.  Derenzo, the grandson of the late best-selling novelist Mary Higgins Clark, was headed west on Sunbury Road in Barry Township when he lost control of his truck before 1 a.m., Pennsylvania State Police said. 8-Year-Old Horseback Rider Seriously Injured In New Jersey SUV Crash An 8-year-old horseback rider suffered serious injuries in a crash with an SUV in North Jersey this week, authorities said. The child was riding the horse along Linn Smith Road in Frankford Township, when the horse traveled into the roadway and struck the side of a Ford SUV around 5:10 p.m, New Jersey State Police Trooper Troy McNair said. The 8-year-old was ejected and suffered serious injuries. The horse suffered moderate injuries. No further information was provided.
