Serious Accident Shuts Route 287 (Developing) A serious accident closed a portion of Route 287 Tuesday evening, July 11. UPDATE: Police ID Passenger Dead, Driver Seriously Hurt In Route 287 Crash  The crash happened in the local lanes of the southbound side of the highway around 8 p.m, north of US 206 in Bridgewater. New Jersey State Police said only that the crash happened near milepost 18.4 around 7:30 p.m., and was under investigation. This is a developing story. Check back for details.
