An Essex County man admitted his role in carjacking a Montclair woman at gunpoint in her driveway, federal authorities said. Andy Cook, 24, of Newark was with an armed man who pointed a gun at the victim, ordered her to leave her purse, phone and keys behind and get out of her 2021 Porsche Cayenne on Melrose Place in the township's Estate section on Dec. 6, 2021, U.S. Attorney Philip R. The family of a 56-year-old Morris County man says he was changing a tire on the way home from a wedding when he was struck and killed by a vehicle on the shoulder of Route 280 last month. Valerian Kapanadze, a Hackettstown resident, has since been arrested and charged with vehicular homicide in connection with the incident in Roseland, as previously reported by Daily Voice. A New Jersey driver was arrested in a fatal crash on Route 280 New Year's Eve, authorities said. Valerian Kapanadze was charged with child endangerment, evidence tampering, and vehicular homicide in the Roseland crash that killed 56-year-old Luis Nicheporuck, of Randolph on Sunday, Dec. 31, New Jersey State Police said. Motorcyclist Killed In Route 280 Crash In Parsippany
A 44-year-old man was killed in a motorcycle crash on Route 280 in Parsippany overnight on Friday, Oct. 27, state police confirmed. Jason M. Otero was riding a Harley Davidson eastbound when the vehicle ran off the left side of the roadway, hit a concrete barrier, and overturned near milepost 0.5 in Parsippany-Troy Hills shortly before 1:15 a.m., New Jersey State Police Detective I Jeffrey Lebron told Daily Voice. Otero, of Livingston, was killed in the crash, Lebron said. The accident remains under investigation. No further details were released.

Driver Killed In Morris County Crash On Route 280: State Police
A 58-year-old driver died in a Sunday morning crash on Route 280, authorities said. The crash occurred in the westbound lanes near milepost 2.2 in East Hanover around 11:25 a.m., NJSP Sgt. Philip Curry told Daily Voice. A Hyundai passenger vehicle driven by Nathaniel Gardiner ran off the right side of the road and down a grass embankment before hitting a tree, Curry said. Gardiner, of Bloomfield, was killed in the crash. The incident remained under investigation. Additional details were not released.
