Internationally Renowned Museum Opening This Summer In Cape May The Garden State will soon be home to what’s being called one of the most anticipated museums in the world, reports say. The Harriet Tubman Museum in Cape May is expected to open this summer at the old Howell House on Lafayette Street, NJ.com reports. The building, which has been vacant for almost four decades, formerly served as the Macedonia Baptist Church parsonage. The building’s condition later declined to the point where it was added to Preservation New Jersey’s list of the 10 most endangered historic properties in 2012. Update: Historic Newark Mansion Destroyed In 3-Alarm Blaze, 2 Firefighters Hurt A historic 127-year-old mansion was consumed by fire in Newark Thursday night, Public Safety Director Anthony Ambrose said in a statement.  Firefighters responded to 172 Clinton Ave. shortly before 8 p.m., where the fire was ripping through the vacant home. The fire went to three alarms before it was brought under control around midnight.
