More Cases, Another Death Reported In NJ Legionnaires' Outbreak Five more people have contracted Legionnaires’ disease in Mercer County, and there has been a third fatality since the outbreak began last summer, authorities said. Legionnaires Disease Outbreak Reported In Union County, 5 Dead The state Department of Health Friday said five people who live in or have visited Union County have recently died of Legionnaires’ disease, a form of pneumonia that’s especially dangerous to the very young, the very old and those with compromised immune systems.
