DWI Branchburg Man Caught Running Away From Hunterdon County Crash Scene, Police Say A Branchburg man was intoxicated when he ran from the scene of a crash on Route 22 in Hunterdon County over the weekend, authorities said. Eric Specht was seen running away from the scene of an accident on Route 22 near Mountain Road just after 1:15 a.m. Saturday, according to Readington Township Police, who were alerted by a witness. Specht was showing signs of intoxication during questioning and failed a series of field sobriety tests, police said. Police: Unlicensed Driver, 37, Crashes Into Morris County Drainage Pipe, Flees A Brooklyn woman was driving without a license when she crashed into a drainage pipe in a Morris County yard and fled the scene, authorities charged. Sonia Martinez, 37, drove onto a private yard on Warren Avenue in Stirling and hit a drainage pipe around 11 a.m. Nov. 26, Long Hill Township police said. Martinez drove away but was later apprehended, police said. She was charged with careless driving, leaving the scene of an accident, failure to report an accident and unlicensed driving. Martinez is scheduled to appear in Long Hill Township Court.

Police: DWI Driver, 66, Charged With Leaving Warren County Accident Scene A 66-year-old drunk driver was charged with leaving the scene of an accident in Independence Township, authorities said. Police were called to the area of Petersburg Road and Ridge Road on a report of an accident on March 26, police said in a Facebook post. The driver, Paulus Schoos, 66, was suspected of driving while intoxicated and subsequently taken into police custody. Schoos was charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, failure to report an accident and leaving the scene of an accident. He was released pending a court appearance.

Denville PD: Debris Trail From Crash Leads Officers To DWI Dover Driver Who Hit Car, House Denville police followed a debris trail to find a DWI driver who struck a car and a house, said authorities who charged him. Police responding to Parks Road followed the trail find Francisco Molina, 40, of Dover, behind the wheel of his car in a yard Monday around 11:40 p.m., Denville PD Capt. Jeffrey Tucker said. He was arrested and taken to police headquarters on charges of reckless and careless driving, consent to breath samples, leaving the scene of an accident, failure to report an accident and DWI, police said.

Lincoln Park PD: Drunk Hit-Run Driver Caught After Turnpike Crash A drunk driver from Towaco kept going after his vehicle hit another near Boonton Turnpike and Pinebrook Road, said police who arrested him. Wilson Matute-Altamirano, 36, was arrested after police found his car in the McDonald's parking lot on Feb. 16 around 6:20 p.m., Lincoln Park Police Detective Kevin Fitzpatrick said. He was charged with DWI, careless driving, failure to report an accident, leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident and failure to maintain lane.  Matute-Altamirano is due to appear in Lincoln Park Municipal Court to answer to the charges.
