Driver Rams NJ State Police Vehicles In Whippany, Switches Cars On Route 78: Cops A driver who crashed into multiple state police vehicles in Whippany Township remains at large after leading a brief pursuit before abandoning his vehicle and getting into another on Route 78, Monday, Nov. 20, authorities said. At 9:15 a.m., detectives were in a parking garage at 34 Eden Lane trying to arrest a suspect wanted in connection with a pending investigation, when the suspect rammed into the unmarked state police vehicles in an attempt to flee the scene, according to New Jersey State Police.
