At 3:29 a.m., Mount Olive police responded to Center Street for a car crash, officers said. Police located a Nissan Sentra that had struck a parked vehicle and was now in the roadway, officers said.
As officers spoke with the driver, Kelsey Chaplin, a Budd Lake resident, the odor of alcohol was detected and she appeared to be impaired, police said. After conducting field sobriety testing, Chaplin was arrested.
Chaplin was charged with DWI and reckless driving, police said. She was released to a sober driver pending a court hearing, police said.
