'The Best Solution': Middletown Public Library Begins First Major Renovation In 20 Years A Monmouth County library has begun a large renovation project to upgrade its main area, officials said. The Middletown Township Public Library formally kicked off the improvements on Thursday, Mar. 21, the library said in a Facebook post. Mayor Tony Perry joined library director Kate Hammon, and other leaders to "swing the first hammers" for the renovation of the reference area. Dead Dolphin Washes Up At State Marina In Middletown A dead dolphin washed ashore at a state-owned marina in Monmouth County, authorities said. Middletown Mayor Tony Perry, in a Facebook post, announced that the dolphin was found Wednesday evening, March 15, at the Leonardo State Marina on the banks of Sandy Hook Bay. The city had notified state officials, Perry said. Perry asked the public to stay away from the area until the dolphin is removed by professionals.
