Crash With Injuries Closes I-195 On Jersey Shore
A multi-vehicle crash with injuries closed Interstate 195 in both directions during the evening rush, New Jersey transportation officials said. Multiple emergency personnel were on the scene at about 4:45 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 16. The crash occurred at about 4:20 p.m. east of Exit 28 near Route 9 in Howell, closing all lanes of the highway. There was an unconfirmed report that a motorist was trapped and then taken to the hospital. New Jersey State Police were not immediately available for more details. CHECK BACK FOR UPDATES

Fatal Pedestrian Crash Reported On Route 9 Jersey Shore: Police
A man walking along Route 9 in Howell was killed after being struck by a vehicle overnight. The crash occurred at 1:55 a.m. Thursday, June 2 between Alexander Avenue and Ford Road, Howell police said. A 30-year-old Lakewood resident was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. His name had not been released. The driver of the car was a 53-year-old resident of Deal. The driver was not hurt. No summonses had been issued. CHECK BACK FOR UPDATES

Man Killed By Car On Route 9
A man was struck and killed by a car on Route 9 in Howell, according to police and NJ Advance Media. The Berkley Township man was walking on the highway between New Friendship Road and Salem Hill Road when he was hit from behind around 9:35 p.m., the outlet says citing police. Howell PD: Freehold Pair Nabbed With Help From K9 Vito
A teenage driver was captured with help from a Howell Police Department K9 after trying to flee on foot, authorities said. The 17-year-old boy was spotted driving erratically on Route 9 near Aldrich Road when police tried to stop him about 1:50 a.m. on Monday, Howell police said in a statement. The driver pulled onto the road's shoulder but suddenly accelerated entering the Freewood Acres section of the Township "with total disregard of the signal to stop (emergency lights/siren)," police said. Fleeing Driver Crashes Vehicle Into Howell Police Car, Caught After Foot Chase
Howell police captured a man who crashed his vehicle into one of their cars and then tried to flee on foot, authorities said. What began as a motor vehicle stop became a pursuit and a crash around 8 p.m. Monday, police said in a Facebook post. They caught him after a brief foot chase, they said. Southbound Route 9 was partially closed near Lanes Mills Road during the investigation.
