UPDATED: A Turnpike Authority worker from Monmouth County was seriously hurt when he was struck by a tractor-trailer that veered into the median on the New Jersey Turnpike in Central Jersey, authorities said. The crash occurred shortly before 9 a.m. on Wednesday, April 13 in the southbound lanes at milepost 87.9 in Edison, State Police said. A tractor trailer hauling a shipping container was traveling southbound.
