It happened on the southbound side in Aberdeen near Exit 117, the state's DOT website shows. A New Jersey State Police spokesperson said the crash involved a BMW and Chevrolet both traveling south. Delaware Memorial Bridge Lanes Closed Due To Major Construction Construction on the New Jersey-bound side of the Delaware Memorial Bridge has temporarily closed two northbound lanes of traffic, authorities said. Highway crews started work to replace the bridge deck and expansion joints on Thursday, Sept. 15 as part of a $71 million project. The first phase of a three-part construction project will result in the two lanes being closed through Nov. 22, according to the Delaware River and Bay Authority.
