A popular pizza shop in Middlesex County was heavily damaged by fire, authorities said. Jerusalem Pizza at 230 Raritan Ave. in Highland Park has been closed down due to the blaze. At approximately 11:14 pm on Tuesday, Feb. 6, the Highland Park Police Department received a 911 call about a fire. Officers arrived at the scene and found heavy smoke and a working structure fire. An Atlantic County volunteer fire department is asking for help after its assistant fire chief was severely injured in an oil refinery explosion. The Milmay Volunteer Fire Company said it happened while Michael Black was battling a fire at his career firefighting job at the Phillips 66 refinery in Linden. A Central Jersey woman and her dogs are recovering after their home was heavily damaged by fire last week. Friends have come to the aid of Valentina Mejia who was asleep when she was abruptly woken up by her dogs barking. Authorities have identified the woman killed in a house fire in Machester earlier this week. Katarina Seboova, 73, was identified as the victim of the Sunday, March 19 fire on Huron Street, according to Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D.
