Alvin Wyatt was convicted on Thursday, July 27, after a five-day jury trial, according to the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office. In addition to the murder conviction, the jury convicted Wyatt of two counts of attempted murder, unlawful possession of a handgun, possession of a firearm for an unlawful purpose, and certain persons not to possess firearms, the prosecutor said. Michigan State Shooter Has NJ Ties, Previous Gun Offense The 43-year-old gunman who killed three students and wounded five at Michigan State University before turning the gun on himself Monday, Feb. 13 appears to have New Jersey ties. The shooter was identified by MSU Interim Deputy Chief Chris Rozman as Anthony McRae. According to a report by the New York Post and her obituary, McRae's late mother was born and lived in Trenton. Asbury Park Teen Gets 10-Year Prison Sentence In Shooting Near Jersey Shore High School A teenager from Asbury Park was sentenced to 10 years in state prison for his role in a shooting outside an Ocean County high school, authorities said. Alonzo Legrande, who is now 18, pleaded guilty in September to aggravated assault and weapons charges, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer said. Legrande originally was charged as an adult on Sept. 10 with four counts of attempted murder and weapons charges, Billhimer said.
