Middletown Route 35 Closed, Pole Fire, Wires Down Route 35 in Monmouth County was closed in both directions at rush-hour due to power lines down, authorities said. All lanes were closed between Harmony Road and New Monmouth Road in Middletown starting at about 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday because of electric poles on fire, reports said. Northbound lanes were reopened about 4:15 p.m. but southbound lanes remained closed. It was not immediately known what caused the emergency. This is a developing news story. CHECK BACK FOR UPDATES
