Teen Killed Walking Home In Somerset County Was Voracious Reader With Gentle Soul Police have identified the 18-year-old man killed while walking home in Somerset County last week. William Richardson was struck by a vehicle that veered off Route 202 (Main Street) and onto the sidewalk around 6:10 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 23 in Bedminster, local police said. William was pronounced dead at the hospital, and the 35-year-old driver of the Nissan Altima that struck him was hospitalized. Pedestrian, 35, Struck, Killed On Route 9 Jersey Shore A crash in which a pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle in Freehold Township is under investigation. Shortly after 6:45 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 30, members of the Freehold Township Police Department responded to the southbound lanes of U.S. Route 9 between County Route 522 and State Route 33 on a report of a serious collision.  They found the victim, a 35-year-old male resident of Freehold Township.  Remaining at the scene was the driver of the vehicle that struck him, a 55-year-old male resident of Lakewood operating a 2008 Toyota Camry. State Police Trooper Strikes, Kills Pedestrian On Route 1: Prosecutor A male pedestrian was struck and killed by a New Jersey State Police trooper early Thursday morning, authorities in Middlesex County said. The crash occurred around 5:55 a.m. near on Route 1 south near Raymond Road in South Brunswick, Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone said. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene and his identity was being withheld pending notification. The investigation is active and continuing. Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Jonathan Berman of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office at (732) 745-4328.
