Crash Partially Closes Route 1 In South Brunswick (Developing) Route 1 northbound in South Brunswick was partially closed due to a crash, authorities said. Police put out an alert at about 1:30 p.m. Thursday, March 9, saying Route 1 near Northumberland Way would remain closed for another two hours. The route was reopened at about 3:30 p.m. The New Jersey Department of Transportation attributed the delays to "police activity." A developing report shortly before 8 a.m. said a pedestrian was involved in the crash.

Police Seek Witnesses To Car Burglaries In South Brunswick Police seek the public's help in identifying suspects in overnight car burglaries in South Brunswick. Monday night, Jan. 29, thieves targeted several unlocked vehicles in the apartment complexes off of Northumberland Way, police said. So far, five residents have reported that their vehicles were ransacked and valuables were stolen. Police are working diligently to investigate these cases, but are asking for the public's assistance in reporting any additional incidents, as well as locking up their vehicles to prevent additional thefts. Serious 3-Alarm Apartment House Fire Reported In Central Jersey (Developing) Firefighters were battling a three-alarm blaze in a three-story apartment house in Middlesex County, according to developing and unconfirmed reports.  The heavy fire broke out at about 8 a.m. on Northumberland Way in South Brunswick, initial reports said.  Command was reporting that the fire was being fought in defensive mode only.
