Man Staying With Family Friend Dies In Edison Fire: Prosecutor
A 71-year-old man died in a fire that broke out at a family friend's house in Edison, authorities said. First responders called to a blaze on Poll Place found James Thomas, 71, of Edison, in an upstairs bedroom of the home, unresponsive around 5:50 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 30, Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and Edison Police Chief Thomas Bryan said. Thomas had been staying with the family, Ciccone and Bryan said. He was taken to JFK Hospital where was pronounced dead. A man was killed overnight in a fire in East Brunswick, authorities said. The man was found unresponsive inside a condominium on Lake Avenue after police and firefighters arrived at 4:24 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 26, East Brunswick police said. Dorbin Armstrong, of Edison, was found unresponsive inside his home on Plainfield Avenue, according to Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and Chief Thomas Bryan of the Edison Police Department. The body of a 37-year-old man was found floating in the Raritan River Sunday. Crews responded to the Donaldson Park boat ramp around 4:15 p.m., and found the body of Highland Park's Michael Davis, Jr., Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and Highland Park Police Chief Richard Abrams said.
