A Bergen County man with the same name as NJ TRANSIT's top executive claimed to be him after he was caught stealing uniforms from the agency's garage in Fairview and igniting a fire on one of its buses, authorities charged. Kevin J. Corbett, an unemployed 42-year-old Hillsdale resident, entered the facility off Anderson Avenue in street clothes before dawn Saturday, March 11, a complaint on file in Superior Court in Hackensack says. 6 People Hurt When NJ Transit Bus Is Rear-Ended
Six people including the driver were injured when a New Jersey Transit bus was rear-ended by another vehicle, authorities said. The crash occurred at about 9 a.m. Monday, Oct. 17 on bus route 508 at Atlantic and Chelsea avenues in Atlantic City, according to Jim Smith, a NJ Transit spokesman. The bus was stopped when it was struck from behind, Smith said. Twelve people were on board. Five riders plus the driver claimed minor injuries and were taken to the hospital, Smith said.

Woman Struck, Killed By Train In Middlesex County
A woman was struck and killed by an NJ Transit train in Middlesex County Tuesday night, officials confirmed. Northeast Corridor train 3959 struck the woman west of the Metuchen station at approximately 6:50 p.m., NJ Transit spokesman Jim Smith said. The woman's identity was being withheld pending family notification. No injuries reported to the approximately 100 passengers and crew members, Smith said. Female Struck, Killed By Train In Monmouth County
A person was struck and killed by a train just before the Red Bank station Saturday morning, NJ Transit officials said. North Jersey Coastline Train 7216 struck the female pedestrian at 8:10 a.m. -- four minutes after leaving the Long Branch Station, NJT Spokesman Jim Smith said. Service was suspended between Little Silver and Middletown, with bus service offered as a substitution. None of the 37 customers or crew were injured, Smith said. The train was scheduled to arrive at Penn Station at 9:43 a.m. Local and NJ Transit police were on scene investigating.
