Jersey Shore Road Reopens 12+ Hours After Tractor-Trailer Crashes Into Utility Pole
A tractor-trailer crashed into a utility pole in Monmouth County, shutting down a road for more than 12 hours, officials said. Crews responded to the crash on Broadway between Locust Avenue and Route 36 on Thursday, June 6, the West Long Branch Office of Emergency Management posted on Facebook at 4:09 p.m. No injuries were reported in the wreck. Crash Knocks Down Traffic Light, Power Lost For Dozens In Central Jersey
A traffic light was down in Holmdel after a crash near an exit for the Garden State Parkway, authorities said. The crash happened at the intersection of Red Hill and Everett roads, according to a Facebook post from the Holmdel Township Police Department at 6:54 p.m. on Monday, May 6. SUV Crash Knocks Out Power, Shuts Down Road In South Jersey: Police
An SUV crashed into a utility pole in Monmouth County, shutting down a road and knocking out power, authorities said. In a Facebook post, Wall Township police said a vehicle hit the pole along Hospital Road at around 12:45 p.m. on Thursday, Apr. 25. No injuries were reported in the crash. More than 2,000 customers were without power in Monmouth County, officials said. According to the outage map for Jersey Central Power & Light, 1,172 customers in Wall Township and 920 customers in Belmar lost service as of 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Apr. 16. JCP&L Will Trim Trees Along 3,400 Miles Of Power Lines To Reduce Outages
Jersey Central Power & Light is planning to trim trees to protect more than 3,400 miles of power lines across the Garden State, officials said. JCP&L will clear trees as part of a $32.5 million plan to prevent power outages during severe weather, the company said in a news release on Wednesday, Apr. 10. More than 6,200 homes and businesses in Toms River and Lakewood were without power early Monday, Aug. 21 after a substation fire, authorities said.
