Authorities have identified the three people killed in a fiery crash on Route 1 in South Brunswick earlier this month.
Charisse Nelson-Bailey, 24, Daniel Vida, 28, and Maria Passalaris, 25, all died in the Friday, April 12 crash near Ridge Road, Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone said.
Just after the 9:40 a.m. accident, police said a van had been struck by a tractor-trailer before the van collided with two other vehicles. Both the tractor-trailer and van then caught fire.

Sayreville Man Arrested In 100-Person NJ Street Takeover: Police
Four young men have been arrested in a pair of street takeovers in Somerset County this fall.
Michael Patrick Steiner, 21, of Sayreville; David Panevsky, 24, of North Middletown; Dmytrius Bell, 20, of Hillsborough; and Jake Cossrow, 18, of Philadelphia, PA, are facing charges in the gatherings on Sept. 10 and Oct. 14, Hillsborough Police Chief Mike McMahon said.
In the first incident, more than 100 people gathered at Willow and Hillsborough roads around 1 a.m., watching as vehicles did donuts and burnouts, McMahon said.

Daniel Joseph Nelson, of Skillman, died in a crash on Route 206 on Dec. 1 — nearly three months after losing his father, Dan Nelson. He was 26 years old.

A Somerset County woman was DWI when fatally ran her husband over with a car in February 2023, authorities said.
Amanda O'Keefe, 37, had a blood alcohol level over the legal limit when she ran over her husband, Robert O'Keefe, 41, in Hillsborough on Saturday, Feb. 25, Somerset County Prosecutor John P. McDonald said.
Robert was pronounced dead outside of his Clark Lane home around 2:30 a.m., McDonald said.
