2 Females Shot, 1 Dead In Carteret; Suspect Caught, Prosecutor Says (Updated) Authorities have released additional information in the double shooting Wednesday, June 12 in Carteret. Two females were found having suffered gunshot wounds on Roosevelt Avenue around 9 a.m., and were airlifted to area hospitals, Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and Carteret Police Chief Dennis McFadden said. As of 2:30 p.m., one victim had died and the other remains critical, Ciccone and McFadden said. 3-Year-Old Child Fatally Shoots Self In Trenton: Prosecutor A three-year-old child accidentally shot themself to death in Trenton, authorities said. The Mercer County Prosecutor's Office Homicide Task Force responded to Princeton Avenue  on a report of a child suffering from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to a county prosecutor. The child has been pronounced dead by Capital Health Hospital. The firearm was recovered. The investigation is ongoing.
