Authorities have identified the pedestrian who was killed in Freehold on Tuesday, Jan. 9. A spokesperson for the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office said 61-year-old David Belcher was hit by a pickup on Route 9 South. No hometown for Belcher was given as of Thursday, Jan. 11. Freehold Township police responded to the crash a few hundred feet north of the Route 9 interchange with New Jersey Route 33 just after 5:30 p.m. Officers found Belcher lying in the road and he was pronounced dead at the scene. Two people were injured in a home invasion robbery in Freehold Township, authorities said. On Monday, Dec. 11 at about 2:45 a.m., Freehold Township police responded to Sargent Road, according to the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office. One resident was treated at the scene and the other was taken to a local hospital for treatment and was later released, the prosecutor said.
