I-287 Southbound Closed After Truck Flips, Dumping Dirt In Central Jersey (Photos) A dump truck overturned closing all southbound lanes of Interstate 287 in Central Jersey in a multiple-vehicle crash, authorities said. The crash occurred at 2:06 p.m. on Wednesday, May 17 at milepost 1 in Metuchen, according to Sgt. Philip Curry, a spokesman for the the New Jersey State Police. Multiple vehicles were involved in the crash including a dump truck that overturned and spilled dirt across the roadway, Curry said. No serious injuries were reported and I-287 was re-opened approximately 2.5 hours after the crash occurred, he said.

Motorcyclist Killed In Howell Crash With Dump Truck A motorcyclist was killed in a Howell crash involving a dump truck Saturday. Th crash occurred on Herbertsville Road (County Route 459) just before 12:25 p.m. The motorcyclist was struck by the dump truck when he failed to negotiate a curve to the right and instead drove into oncoming traffic.  The Newton’s Corner/Herbertsville split was closed for several hours. The dump truck driver remained at the scene and no charges were filed. The motorcyclist's name was not released.
