Trackside Sportsbook With Shake Shack Coming To Monmouth Park In 2025
A Monmouth County horse track has begun a large expansion project to keep up with the growth of the sports gambling industry. Monmouth Park and Caesars Entertainment have started building a new trackside sportsbook and entertainment complex, according to a news release. A groundbreaking ceremony was held at the Oceanport track on Tuesday, May 7. The new facility is expected to open in 2025 with 16,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor space for watching sports. Atlantic City Casino Hotel Workers Approve Strike
Thousands of casino-hotel workers in Atlantic City supported a strike in a vote, according to their union. The vote by members of Local 54 of the Unite Here union leaves exact logistics for a strike up to its contract negotiation team. They voted on Wednesday, June 15. They seek significant pay hikes in their contracts which expired on May 31, the union has said. Caesars resort and casino in Atlantic City will soon be home to a luxury Nobu hotel and restaurant. The expansion comes as part of a $400 million investment into the resort. Caesars Entertainment announced on Wednesday that it is investing $400 million into three of its Atlantic City casino resorts. A New Jersey poker player who gambled just $5 and won a staggering $1.1 million paid it forward by dishing out a generous $50,000 tip to dealers. Monmouth County resident Frank Nagy won the jackpot during a trip to the Tropicana casino in Atlantic City, NJ.com reports. Afterward, Nagy offered $50,000 to the dealers working at the casino, where he is a longtime player, the outlet reports. Nagy’s payout is the highest jackpot on a game of progressive poker in the history of Caesars Entertainment, Tropicana’s parent company. The last jackpot win occurred in August 2019, the report says.
