Authorities have identified the two people killed in the double-decker Megabus overturn on the NJ Turnpike Tuesday, Aug. 9, authorities said. Cheryl Johnson, 59, of Bronx, N.Y., was pronounced dead at the scene, while Cecilia Kiyanitza, 66, of Woodbury, N.J. was airlifted to an area hospital where she was later pronounced dead. A driver behind the wheel of an out-of-control school bus that slammed into a downtown Teaneck storefront with no children aboard Tuesday afternoon may have had a medical emergency, responders said. Five people were hurt early Tuesday, Feb. 8 when a New Jersey Transit bus crashed into the woods along the Atlantic City Expressway westbound in South Jersey, authorities said. More than 10,000 home owners and businesses in Lakewood were reported to be without electricity about 6:30 p.m., authorities said. Utility company officials could not immediately say why the power went out in Ocean County, but there was speculation that the region's high demand for electricity due to the heat wave may have been a contributing factor. : At Least 14 Injured In Route 206 Sussex County Bus Crash
More than a dozen people were injured when a bus overturned on snowy roads in Sussex County Thursday afternoon. The crash occurred near Route 206 and Clove Road in Montague around 4 p.m., according to initial and unconfirmed reports. Driver May Have Passed Out In Bus Crash At Port Authority Terminal
Two severely injured victims were among 16 in all who were hospitalized following a Saturday morning bus crash at the Port Authority bus terminal in Manhattan, they said. Authorities suspect a medical condition was to blame for the driver of the #156 bus losing consciousness prior to the crash.
