New Jersey authorities are conducting a mandatory review of a fatal crash involving a State Police trooper and a bicyclist in Warren County earlier this week. The bicycle was seen on its side on the road's shoulder behind the unmarked black Ford Explorer that hit it on Willow Grove Street (Route 604) outside the Hackettstown Senior Housing Development off Brook Hollow Drive an hour before sunrise on Monday, Feb. 5. Oh deer! A 13-year-old bicyclist was struck by a deer that was struck by a car in a chaotic scene in Hackettstown on Tuesday, Oct. 10. At 7:03 p.m., police responded to the 600 block of Willow Grove Street to a report of a teen bicyclist struck by a deer, officers said. Bicyclist Struck By Car In Toms River: Police
A bicyclist was struck by a car in Toms River, authorities said. At approximately 11:45 a.m. on Tuesday, July 11, police units were dispatched to the intersection of Route 35 S and Fifth Avenue for a reported motor vehicle accident with a bicyclist. The initial investigation revealed the driver was traveling southbound on Route 35 South in the left lane and turning left onto Fifth Ave when she collided with a bicyclist who was riding northbound, on the east shoulder of Route 35 South against traffic, police said. A bicyclist was found by the side of the road by a passerby in Central Jersey, according to developing and unconfirmed reports. The rider may have been struck by a hit-and-run driver, initial reports said. The crash was reported at about 9:30 p.m. Thursday, June 2 at Nathaniel Street and Schoolhouse Road in Monroe Township. A bicyclist had to be airlifted from a crash scene on the Jersey Shore, according to developing and unconfirmed reports. The juvenile purportedly fell off his bike, causing serious injuries, at about 1 p.m. on Thursday, April 21 on the 1700 block of Union Ave. in Hazlet, initial reports said. A 65-year-old bicyclist who failed to stop at a red light in Somerset County was struck by an SUV with the right of way and hospitalized, authorities said. Bicyclist Struck By Truck, Seriously Hurt In Neptune City
Police, firefighters and EMS crews were called to Route 66 in Monmouth County on a report of a bicyclist struck by a truck, authorities said. The collision occurred shortly before noon on the 2200 block of Route 66 in Neptune City, according to reports.
