NJ Fugitive Caught After 100-Mile Police Chase With 10 Guns, Drugs In NC: Police
A fugitive wanted for attempted murder in Monmouth County was captured in North Carolina after leading police on a roughly 100-mile chase, authorities said. Damian Bell, 49, of Brooklyn, New York, was arrested in Durham County, NC, on Friday, Mar. 15. The Rowan County Sheriff's Office announced his arrest in a news release on Wednesday, Mar. 20. According to the sheriff's office, Bell was wanted for two counts of attempted murder in Monmouth County. Toms River Heroin Dealer Pleads Guilty
A Toms River man admitted to selling heroin throughout Ocean County, authorities said. Zachary Lockwood, 25, pleaded guilty on Monday, Feb. 12, to possession of one-half ounce or more of heroin with intent to distribute, being a certain person not to possess a weapon, and resisting arrest, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer announced. Drugs and rifles were seized during separate traffic stops in Atlantic City, authorities said. At 8:46 p.m. on Thursday, March 2, Officer Giselle Garcia conducted a motor vehicle stop in the 200 block of north South Carolina Avenue after observing a motor vehicle infraction. The passenger of the vehicle, Semaj Poteat, was found to be in possession of approximately 54 grams of suspected crack cocaine, 6 grams of suspected heroin, and $730 believed to be proceeds of illegal narcotics sales, police said. A Bucks County motorist was arrested on drug-related charges, authorities said. About 10:45 p.m. on Nov. 23, Stephen Paul Ellmore was stopped for a traffic violation near the intersection of Street and Stump roads, Upper Southampton Township police said. During the traffic stop, the patrol officer noticed a plastic torch lighter which led to a probable cause search of the vehicle, police said.
