NJ Transit Train Strikes Car On Jersey Shore A New Jersey Transit train struck a car on the Jersey Shore, authorities said. At 7:32 a.m., North Jersey Coast Line train 3224 crashed into the car at the Bethany Road crossing in Hazlet. The car's motorist was not hurt.  No injuries were reported to the approximately 150 customers or the crew on board at the time. The crash occurred at about 9 a.m. Monday, Oct. 17 on bus route 508 at Atlantic and Chelsea avenues in Atlantic City, according to Jim Smith, a NJ Transit spokesman. NJ Transit IDs Man Killed By Light Rail Train Authorities have identified the man killed by a New Jersey Transit River Line light rail train.  Denis Javier Mencia Sanchez, 30, of  Riverside Township in Burlington County was struck at about 10:40 p.m. Friday near the Wood Lane grade crossing, Burlington County, according to New Jersey Transit spokesman Everett Merrill.  New Jersey Transit and Edgewater Park police responded to the scene. There were no passengers aboard at the time of the fatal crash since the train was not in service, Merrill said. New Jersey Transit police are leading the investigation.
