There will be a sea of red tying up traffic in New Jersey on Saturday, Nov. 4, as thongs of college football fans are expected to flock to SHI Stadium as Rutgers squares off against top-ranked Ohio State. The New Jersey Department of Transportation, in turn, is advising of possible delays before and after the highly-anticipated game in Piscataway, which kicks off at noon. Football Star, 24, Dies Of Injuries From Trenton Shooting: Prosecutor
A 24-year-old man from Mercer County died of injuries suffered in a shooting in Trenton earlier this month, authorities said. Justin Prescott Reed, of Ewing, died on May 22, as a result of injuries he sustained in the May 14 shooting on Brunswick Avenue, the Mercer County Prosecutor's Office said on Wednesday, May 31. No arrests had been made in the shooting as of press time, authorities said. Reed was a star football player at Ewing High School. Mahwah High School Football Star Shot, Killed At Ohio State
A popular former Mahwah High School football star was shot and killed overnight Sunday at Ohio State University, authorities confirmed. Chase Meola, a 23-year-old marketing major, was pronounced dead shortly after 2 a.m. at the scene of the shooting in a Columbus parking lot following a dispute during a party at a nearby fraternity house. Authorities chased down and captured Kintie Mitchell Jr., 18, of Columbus, and charged him with murder. Mitchell escaped police custody following a burglary arrest early this year, authorities said. Rutgers Football Scarlet Knights Test Positive For Coronavirus
At least two players on the Rutgers University football team have tested positive for coronavirus, authorities said. Scarlet Knights players returned to campus for voluntary workouts in Piscataway earlier this month and were receiving health screenings including saliva tests and temperature checks, they said.
