Diaz of Long Valley. Teen Bicyclist Critically Hurt In South Jersey A 14-year-old bicyclist from Pleasantville was critically hurt in a collision with a vehicle, authorities said. The crash occurred on Saturday, Nov. 5 at about 6 p.m. on Ocean Heights Avenue at a bike path, Somers Point police said. The youth was taken to Atlanticare Trauma Center and then airlifted to Cooper Trauma Center. The vehicle was driven by Tia Coppin, 25, of Atlantic City, police said. Police said speed was not a factor in the collision, and no summonses had been issued.

The boy was on his way to school when he was struck near 150 Pond Rd. in Robbinsville Township around 8 a.m., Police Chief Mike Polaski told DailyVoice.com. The boy was taken to Capitol Health in Hopewell for treatment of a non-life-threatening leg injury, Polaski said.

Teenage Bicyclist Dies After South Jersey Crash: Police A teenage bicyclist died after being struck by a car in Atlantic County, authorities said. The crash happened at about 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 27.  The 15-year-old boy's name has not been released. Samia Youseff-Attala, 69, of Egg Harbor Township, was driving south on Franklin Boulevard when she struck the bicyclist heading east on Loraine Avenue, Pleasantville police said. After reading about the 14-year-old boy's mishap on Daily Voice, borough resident Sherry Solomov headed up an effort that raised nearly $800, Bogota Police Sgt. Geoffrey Cole said. It was enough to get the boy a new bike and lock, as well as a gift card, Cole said. Fifty or so people in all donated, he said.
