A 2000 Nissan X-terra drivne by Marleny Taborda, 64, Egg Harbor Township, was traveling east on the Black Horse Pike through a red light at the intersection of Tilton Road when her SUV collided with a 2020 Ram Pro-master van driven by Edwin Watts, 75, years of Somers Point, according to Egg Harbor Township police.

Watts was making a left turn at 9:42 a.m. on Wednesday onto the Black Horse Pike to head west when he was struck, police said.

The impact caused Taborda’s Nissan X-terra to rotate and overturn, coming to rest on the passenger side on the concrete median, police said.

"Numerous motorists rushed to the overturned vehicle and were able to assist Ms. Taborda out of the vehicle to safety until emergency crews arrived," according to the police report.

Taborda was treated at the scene by Egg Harbor Township EMS and then taken to Shore Medical Center for further evaluation.

Watts was not reported hurt.

Summonses are pending further investigation by Officer Nick Poletis.
