Stray Bullet Hits Paterson Boy, 7, Police Say
PATERSON, N.J. — A stray bullet hit a 7-year-old boy in Paterson Monday night and sent him to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, police said. The bullet struck a home on Rosa Parks Boulevard around 6:30 p.m. and gave the boy a "flesh wound" to the shoulder, Police Director Jerry Speziale said. He was transported to St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center and will likely be released Tuesday, Speziale said. The boy and his mother were both in good spirits, he said. MONTVALE, N.J. — The Glock-Cuozzo family of Montvale welcomed newborn Carter David Tyler at 7:09 a.m. Monday. "When we found out I was pregnant in July, we were joking about it," Carter's mother Jennifer said of his Feb. 29 birthday. Jennifer and David Cuozzo thought Carter would be born earlier but the eight pound, 10 ounce baby boy joined his siblings Shea and Zachary in the family in time for leap day. Totowa Couple Ran Illegal Botox Service, Authorities Say
TOTOWA, N.J. — Authorities charged a Totowa couple with giving illegal Botox injections. Although neither had a medical license, Carla Haro, 45 -- also known as Giovanna Garay -- and 52-year-old Joe Haro gave clients the injections at Venus Beauty Spa on Union Boulevard, Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Totowa Police Chief Richard H. Coyle said on Monday. Both were charged with conspiracy to practice medicine without a license. Carla Haro also was charged with illegal possession of a prescription drug and practicing medicine without a license.
