Clifton Wrestler Cements Family Legacy
CLIFTON, N.J. — When a referee raised Clifton High School wrestler Patrick DePasque's arm in victory for the 100th time, the high school senior added his name alongside Mustang greats. DePasque's name was already familiar to the record books, as his older brother Anthony joined the 100-win club as well. "It was great," Pat DePasque told Daily Voice. "The 100th win was a big step to me because it makes me work harder. Now I have a target on my back." It only took him 13 seconds to earn that milestone victory as he pinned his Passaic County Tech opponent at the recent Bl…

Elmwood Park Soldier's History Unveiled By Indiana Collector
ELMWOOD PARK, N.J. — An Indiana photo enthusiast uncovered a piece of Elmwood Park history from halfway across the country while adding to his growing collection of old military pictures. Mike Harpe found a picture of James Martinelli, formerly of Elmwood Park, while shopping online and won a bid for it. The main reason he bought it was because the photo came with a name of the person on it, allowing him to research its history. What he found was the life story of Martinelli, a soldier Harpe said formerly lived in Elmwood Park when it was known as East Paterson and was killed in action duri…

The club started six years ago, Gligoroska's freshman year at Garfield High School. She now attends Ramapo College. EPIC has 20 to 25 active members from Garfield. WYCKOFF, N.J. — Glen Rock's Jennifer Casper took her aquatic experiences and turned it into a new business by opening Goldfish Swim School in Wyckoff. Casper, a mother of four, said she saw a need for the new swim school. "There's not enough swimming pools in the Bergen County area," she said. "It's [basically] a necessity to learn to swim." Paterson Man Sentenced To 18 Years In Prison For Armed Robbery
PATERSON, N.J. — A judge sentenced a Paterson man to 18 years in prison Friday for an October 2012 armed robbery, authorities said. They fled in their car but were chased down by Paterson police, she said. A jury convicted Minaya last February of robbery, theft and illegal weapons possession.
